Student-Athletes often face immense pressure, juggling the demands of academics and sports. Providing support and resources is crucial to optimize an athlete’s development. Reducing the Stigma about Mental Health

Acknowledging the struggles openly and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health is the most important thing. When student-athletes continue to feel safer to talk about their concerns, the more likely they will be to improving their experience in college athletics. Coaches, teammates, professors, and peers is an athlete’s support staff and the more supportive these people are, the better chance the athlete will have to optimize their experience wherever they are. Encouraging open conversations and finding great mentors and supporting staff the better that athlete will be able to perform. Continuing to encourage taking control of your mind will only benefit you as a student athlete.
